MTV: What is your favorite CD of all time?

Jack: My favorite CD would have to be Tool's Aenima. It's such an amazing album. I've been listening to it for about two years now, it's solid.

MTV: What are you listening to now?

Jack: I listen to a lot of early Incubus. Faith No More, System of a Down, Tenacious D, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Rage Against the Machine.

MTV: What was your favorite show that you saw last year?

Jack: Favorite show that I saw last year was Tool's second night at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. A good show has to be entertaining the entire time, and Tool is entertaining visually and has a whole bunch of music playing behind the monitors the whole time. So it's visually entertaining as well as the music.

MTV: What is a typical day like for you?

Jack: I get up at 9 a.m., have my home schooling from 10 a.m. to noon. Then I'll work out, and it depends what day of the week it is, but then I'll go to work--I work at Epic as a scout. I go in three times a week. I found one band over a year ago that has a development deal right now. I'm waiting for the higher powers to give the OK.

MTV: Where do you get your influences for style?

Jack: I don't really get influenced by people. I wore black Dickies for two years straight and a black t-shirt. These are the first pair of jeans I've bought in eight years. I kind of do my own thing.

MTV: What is your favorite thing to do with your friends?

Jack: Hang out, really. I go out to a lot of clubs, it's a good time. Sometimes we'll just sit in my room and we'll listen to music and just talk and watch a movie. Or sometimes we'll just go out and get wasted.

MTV: Do you know where you want to live when you get older?

Jack: I'm not moving out. I'm in no rush to pay rent! I think kids are really pathetic when they get to the point like, "I'm moving out, I can't stand you," and then they move out and they can't afford to live. I want to live wherever my friends are, that would make me happy.

MTV: Have you ever been treated differently because of who your parents are?

Jack: Of course, living in L.A.? Every day. Its ridiculous, it's a hard time knowing who your friends are. I mean, if I was just a regular kid, half the people wouldn't even come up and acknowledge my existence. So I don't think Kelly realizes this, but half her friends have nothing in common with her.

MTV: What makes someone a true friend in your eyes?

Jack: I don't know, you just connect with someone. I really don't stray away from my friends, I have got this group of six or seven friends, I don't hang out with anyone except for them. What makes a good friend is when they start caring--when you're sick, or they actually call you and see how you're doing. You can tell who's your friend and who isn't. L.A. is particularly tough. You walk down the street and people kiss your ass 24 hours a day, and I don't think this show is going to help much.
